Trial Chambers Explained: Vaults, Keys and Ominous Mode
Trial Chambers are the best new source of loot and the mighty Mace. Here's how they work and how to farm them.
Trial Chambers are copper-and-tuff dungeons that generate deep underground. They're built around a simple loop: fight, get keys, open vaults.
Trial Spawners
Each room has one or more Trial Spawners. Walk in and they spawn a wave of mobs scaled to how many players are nearby. Clear the wave and the spawner ejects rewards, then goes on cooldown — so you can return and farm it again later.
Vaults and Trial Keys
- Beating spawners drops Trial Keys.
- Use a key on a Vault to claim guaranteed loot — including diamonds, enchanted gear, and crafting materials.
- Vaults only give loot once per player, so bring friends to clear them efficiently.
The Mace
The star reward is the Heavy Core, used to craft the Mace — a weapon that deals bonus damage based on how far you fall before hitting. Enchant it with Density, Breach, or Wind Burst for devastating combos.
Ominous mode: bigger risk, better loot
Drink an Ominous Bottle (or carry Bad Omen in) to activate Ominous Trial Spawners. These are harder — more mobs, projectiles, and traps — but they drop Ominous Trial Keys that open the special Ominous Vaults with the best loot in the chamber.
